ORGANIZATION

Global Health Action (GHA ) is a private nonprofit headquartered in Decatur, Georgia close to Emory University and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. GHA provides training and education in health, community development and leadership to benefit individuals, families, and communities worldwide. Founded in 1972 by key health, educational, business, and religious leaders, GHA promotes a mutual respect for individual and cultural diversity.The GHA World Center has available free parking and is accessible by MARTA. GHA’s hours of operation are 9:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., MON-FRI.

Under the guidance and supervision of the Director of Development, the Development and Marketing Coordinator the Work/Study student will learn and perform tasks from the following list:

Update donor/prospect files
Do web-based research on donor/foundation prospects
Collect and analyze information on similar organizations
Assist with the production of collateral materials using Photoshop, Quark or Microsoft Publisher.
Assist with correspondence and mailings
Assist with video production of GHA programs
Coordinate speakers bureau training program and materials
Explore web-based research and publicity opportunities
QUALIFICATIONS

Interest in working with nonprofit and/or health organizations. Ability to write creatively using word processing and Windows programs. Ability to conduct web-based research and organize computer data and research files. Enthusiasm for new projects. Availability of a car is preferred, but not required.

Work/Study student will be available for work at least 10 to 15 hours per week during GHA hours of operation, 9:00 AM to 5:30PM, MON-FRI.
