Design, Management, and Evaluation of HIV/AIDS Programs (Africa)

Global Health Action’s Program Design, Management, and Evaluation courses in Africa provide health professionals with skills in leadership and management that they apply to existing or newly-designed projects. Participants learn and practice the programmatic tools and practical skills required to conduct needs assessments and use their training to plan, design, implement, monitor, and evaluate HIV/AIDS community-based projects.

Training Primary Health Care Workers and Rural Women (Heilongjiang Province, China)

Global Health Action is partnering with the Public Health Bureau in China’s remote Heilongjiang Province to train ten thousand primary health care workers to educate rural women about reproductive health, disease prevention, and domestic violence.

Management and Leadership Training Program (China)

Since 2002, Global Health Action has been contracted by the National Population and Family Planning Commission of China (NPFPC) to provide custom-designed public health leadership and management courses for Commission officials. These trainings, most of which have been presented at our World Headquarters & Training Center in Decatur, Georgia, are strengthening the capacity of the NPFPC to provide client-oriented family planning, reproductive health, and HIV/AIDS services.

Community Health Worker Training (Haiti)

For more than 25 years, Global Health Action has been training Community Health Workers in Haiti to serve the needs of their rural communities. Eight weeks of training in basic health care and health promotion enables CHW’s to prevent or treat 80% of the illnesses and diseases in their communities.

Haitian Goat Project (Darbonne, Haiti)

Global Health Action trains 20 Haitian goat farmers a month in the basics of goat husbandry and care. The Goat
Project provides Haitians with valuable knowledge and skills as well as a source of food and income. Each farmer receives a pregnant goat, training, veterinary services, and follow-up support.

Healthy Mothers, Healthy Children Project (Petit Goave District, Haiti)

GHA’s is collaborating with the Haitian Ministry of Health and the Methodist Church of Haiti to improve the health of families, and in particular mothers and children, in the Petit Goave District of Haiti. The project incorporates training for community health workers and traditional birth attendants and educates key groups at the community level through women’s community banks, men’s groups, and gatherings of traditional leaders

School-Based AIDS Awareness and Prevention Program (DeKalb County, Georgia, USA)

Since 2004, Global Health Action has partnered with the DeKalb County School System in Georgia to educate young people about HIV/AIDS issues and prevention, using peer-to-peer presentations and in-school programs to reach thousands of middle and high school students.

Customiz Designed Courses and Speical Programs (Around the World)

Global Health Action develops and implements custom-designed trainings for agencies, groups, and organizations at the community, national, and international level.
